Description: Science Olympiad IS NOT Science Fair. We are completely different. It is a team competition in which students compete in 23 different events pertaining to different scientific disciplines, including earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Each student will specialize in several events, not all 23. The PHS Science Olympiad team participates in 4 tournaments, a Regional Competition, and a State Competition. The PHS Science Olympiad team hosts a competition in November, the first competition of the season.

Accomplishments:
Hosted 3rd annual Palatine Science Olympiad invitational in which 42 teams competed with close to 800 students participating.
4th Annual Palatine Invitational Tournament will be Saturday, November 21, 2015.
Attended four invitational tournaments during which time the students earned 43 medals.
Competed in regionals, placed in 20 events, and finished 2nd as a team earning the right to advance to the State tournament
For the 4th consecutive time, we competed in the state tournament
At the state tournament, the team competed in the upper division (AA) for the first time in its history with 24 students competing in 28 events.

The team finished in 16th place out of 48 teams, up from 26th last year.
During the state tournament, students placed in 2 events:
3rd Place for Scrambler
4th Place for Hydrogeology
